My Credentials and Counseling Background:
I have worked in the mental health field for over 9 years and have been doing clinical counseling since 2018. I have worked with a wide variety of populations and age ranges as well as all levels of care from inpatient hospital settings to outpatient settings.
I went to Dallas Baptist University where I got my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology and went to Texas Women’s University for my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, EMDR certified (Eye Movement Desensitization), and am a Registered Yoga Teacher. Read more in the next section for a more detailed and comprehensive list of my qualifications.
The “why” behind my passion and what kind of therapist I am:
I lived a large majority of my life disconnected from my body due to my own traumas. I desire to provide for my clients, what so many others have provided for me - a safe space to heal and explore the Self at your own pace without judgment or an agenda. My clients that I see desire to heal from past traumas, breaking unhelpful and generational patterns, beliefs, and are desiring to learn how to connect and listen to their bodies. It is so brave!
According to my clients, I have heard that I am relatable, help people have brighter futures, “woo woo,” funny, attentive, accepting, and safe. Some of my personal and therapeutic values safety, curiosity, compassion, humor, and leading with my heart.
Lets get personal:
I am an animal, nature, plant, crystal lover and have always felt the most connected when I am in nature. I love all types of music and concerts, but especially EDM shows. I am pretty weird and sometimes socially awkward - small talk isn’t my thing, I identify as an empath and HSP, love traveling and exploring new places, have 3 dogs - Maya, Hannah, and Po. My soon to be husband and I like to travel, take our pups on walks, and find new restaurants in our city!
